Cleora Sue Johnson

Cleora Sue Johnson, 82, of Hackettstown, NJ, passed away peacefully at Hackettstown Medical Center, Hackettstown, NJ on September 12, 2023 with her loving family by her side.

Known to most as Sue, she was born on June 16, 1941 in Greenville, Pennsylvania to the late Robert B. Pfaff and Martha White Pfaff.

She was a graduate of Meadville City Nursing Hospital where she earned an Associates and Registered Nurse degree. Sue worked as an Emergency Room Nurse in Pittsburgh, PA from 1962-1966. And as a home health nurse Tinley Park, IL. After moving to Hampton, NJ she worked as a geriatric nurse in Rolling Hills Care Center and then as an RN at the Hagedorn Psychiatric Center in Glen Gardner, NJ until retirement.

Sue married the love of her life, Frederick R. Johnson, in 1962 — celebrating over 50 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2019. Sue always enjoyed taking care of others and would help anyone in need. Sue was a member of the Red Hats Club in Hackettstown, NJ. She cherished spending time with family and friends. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing board and card games. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her loving children: Jodi Crawford and her husband Mike, and Rick Joi and his wife Donna. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Morgandy Crawford, Jack Joi, Wyatt Joi, and Piper Quinn Joi, as well as many nieces, nephews, and their children and grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Fred, she is preceded in death by her 5 sisters.

Per Sue’s request, there will be no services.
