Charlotte Spina

Charlotte Spina, 91, of Whippany, NJ (formally of Montville, NJ) passed away peacefully on September 2, 2017 at Care One Hanover in Whippany NJ.
Charlotte was born in Newark, NJ on August 20, 1926 to the late Frederick and Mary Olsen.
Charlotte graduated from Bloomfield High School. She married the love of her life Vincent J. Spina in 1959. They celebrated 54 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2015. Charlotte was a talented singer and sang semiprofessionally after WWII in Newark, NJ. She volunteered much of her time at functions held by the Knights of Columbus. She was an excellent cook and loved to entertain. Charlotte was an animal lover, particularly horses. She was an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles and game shows, especially family feud. Above all of her interests Charlotte loved and devoted her life to her family. She will be sadly missed.
She is survived by her loving children, 3 sons, Steven Spina and his wife Amy, Allan Spina and hiswife Susan, Kenneth Spina and his companion Tamatha McArdle and 1 daughter Diane Pesce.  Her cherished grandchildren, Theresa, Amanda, Phillip, Christopher, Megan, Vincent, Mark and Noah.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her devoted husband Vincent Spina
Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, September 7, 2017 from 9:30 - 10:30 AM at the Scala Memorial Home, 124 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840 Funeral service will immediately follow visitation at 10:30 in the funeral home. Burial will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in East Orange, NJ
