Caroline Ciak

Caroline Ciak, 87, of Long Valley, NJ passed away peacefully at Heath Village Nursing Home in Hackettstown, NJ on November 20, 2016. Caroline was born on August 22, 1929 in Newark, NJ to the late Gregory (Harry) and Ameila Wicher. She graduated from Irving High School class of 1946.
She met and married the love of her life Sigmund in 1955.
Caroline was an avid reader, loved cooking and was famous for her pierogies. She was of the Catholic faith and a parishioner of Our Lady of the Mountain Roman Catholic Church on Schooley's Mountain. She enjoyed gardening and was a huge football fan. She was a NY Giants fan but mostly a fan of her grandchildren's high school and college football teams.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years, Sigmund A. Ciak, her loving children, Irene Breitweiser and her husband Bob and their children Jeff and Eric, Linda Warner and her husband Tom and their children Alexander and Nicholas, Walter Ciak and his wife Anne and their children Grant and Amy and Sigmund Ciak and his wife Colleen and their children Ryan and Caitlin, and sister-in-law Irene Wicher and her children Barbara and Steve. She is preceded in death by a brother, Steve Wicher.
Friends and family may pay their respects on Friday, November 25, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Scala Memorial Home, 124 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, November 26, 2016 at the Our Lady of the Mountain Roman Catholic Church, 2 East Springtown Rd., Long Valley, NJ 07853 10:00 AM with Monsignor Kieran McHugh officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, NJ Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Scala Memorial Home.
