Betty Le Clair

Betty Jean LeClair, 97, of Hackettstown, NJ passed away peacefully on July 11, 2025, with her loving family by her side.

Betty was born on March 19, 1928, in Gilbertsville, Pennsylvania to the late Edward and Beulah Heimbach.

She was a graduate of Pottstown High School class of 1946. Betty married the love of her life Leighton LeClair Sr. in 1947. Together they celebrated 62 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2009. Betty was an avid reader, enjoyed quilting, ceramics, and water color painting, and was a long-time Girl Scout leader. She also enjoyed traveling and socializing. She enjoyed life, and until very recently was still reading, playing board games, and taking her daily walks. Above all she loved her family and friends and cherished every moment spent with them. She will be greatly missed.

Betty is survived by her loving children: Leighton H. LeClair Jr. and his wife Lisa of Florida, Linda McDermott and her husband Robert of North Carolina, and Lisa Turner and her husband Ralph of Maine. She also leaves behind 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, sisters Nancy Englehart of Pennsylvania, and Joanne Reider of Ohio, and sisters-in-law Sandra Heimbach of Ohio, Sandy Heimbach of Pennsylvania, and Dorothy LeClair of Massachusetts. In addition to her husband Leighton, she was preceded in death by her brothers Robert, Richard, and Douglas Heimbach.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Fairview Cemetery, 317 W. Philadelphia Avenue, Boyertown, PA 19512. A memorial service will be held at Riverwalk Village (House of the Good Shepherd), 798 Willow Grove St, Hackettstown, NJ .on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at 10:30 AM with a reception and lunch to follow.
