Arden L Hennessey

Arden L. Hennessey, 84, of Hackettstown, NJ (formerly of Port Murray, NJ) passed away peacefully on February 16, 2024 at Heath Village in Washington Township, NJ


Arden was born on July 16, 1939 in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania to the late Harold and Olive Hennessey.


He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Eastern University in Pennsylvania. He was employed as a salesman for many years prior to his retirement. Throughout his life he lived in Spring Lake, NJ; King of Prussia, PA; Richmond, VA and Chicago, Illinois where he met his beloved spouse, the Rev. Dr. Ruth Hennessey. Arden enjoyed reading the New Yorker, watching the History Channel and rooting for the Democrats. Above all he loved his family. He will be greatly missed.


He is survived by his devoted wife of 42 years Rev. Dr. Ruth Hennessey, his loving son, Gregory Hennessey and his brothers Richard Hennessey and Dr. David Hennessey and his wife Anne and his sister-in-law Linda Levinson


A Memorial Service celebrating Arden’s life will be held on March 4, 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Greenstone United Methodist Church, 116 East Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882
