Albert John Connelly

Albert John Connelly, 88, of Allamuchy, New Jersey passed away peacefully at his home on April 4, 2026 with his loving family by his side.

Albert was born on July 6, 1937 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Francis and Jessica Connelly. After graduating high school, Albert furthered his education, earning his Bachelor's Degree from Saint Joseph's University in Pennsylvania. He was honored to attend with a track & field scholarship; Albert was very athletic and an accomplished high jumper and runner, earning multiple awards and setting records in his time as a college athlete.

He proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Air Force, including during the Cuban Missile Crisis, earning the rank of 1st Lieutenant. Albert married the love of his life, Linda Renée (nee Jones, known to family and friends as Renée) in 1962, and they raised four children together.

Albert enjoyed playing squash and golf, watching college football, cooking, and spending time with the dogs he and Renée cared for during their full life together. While living in Longboat Key, Florida, he enjoyed creating masterful pottery pieces and was an avid boater and kayaker. He and Renée were members of the Longboat Key Turtle Watch, helping to rescue sea turtle hatchlings and safely guide them to the ocean.

Above all, Albert loved his family and treasured every moment they spent together. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Linda Renée Connelly, and his loving children Jessica Taenzer and her husband Michael; Laura Marie Scaff and her husband Gregg Holck; and Albert Connelly, Jr. and his wife Debbie. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren Michael Taenzer, Kristin Lemenze and her husband Douglas, Matthew Taenzer, and Char Scaff; his sister-in-law Evelyn Connelly; and his beloved nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents Francis and Jessica, Albert is preceded in death by his son Christopher Edward Connelly; his brothers Francis Connelly, Jr. and Ross Connelly; and his sister Eileen Connelly Jones.

A Memorial Mass celebrating Albert's life will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026 at 10:30 AM at Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church, 48 Tranquility Rd, Andover, NJ 07821. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Albert's name to Boys Town at https://donors.boystown.org.
